Lots of research and expertise have defined cloud computing, but a perfect definition of cloud computing in simple terms means storing and accessing of data and programs over the internet rather than doing it on the computer’s hard drive. Rather it moves down to the age of flow charts and presentations which is a graphical representation of the gigantic server farm infrastructure relating to the internet that defines a puffy cloud which accepts the connections and doling out information as it stands floating. In this everything need to be close enough with working off on the local drive and how the computer industry is functioning since long. It’s quite often that we use G- Mail or Microsoft outlook and these are programme. So it’s not possible that we are not able to access to these applications without any internet connection.
The model:-
The model is called the infrastructure as service or IaaS. It allocates virtualized computing resources like those of servers, storage, and network to those of the users through the internet. Now let’s have a look to some of the examples of companies using cloud computing. These are like pinterest, coca cola, game loft, etsy, eBay, twitter etc. These companies are managing the computer data being stored in the cloud. It trend to continue growing as the cloud computing market is evolving and these companies are completely getting benefited with the cloud computing. These businesses use cloud computing to access the information anywhere through a compatible device. So rather than storing the information on the system or in the server, cloud computing stores the data on the internet.
With an overall detail, the cloud computing is defined as the hosted services like the data storage, servers, data bases, networking as well as the software over the internet. With its performance, it has reduced the storage space making the working process convenient.
The architecture:-
Instead of storing the files into the storage device or the hard drive. The user can save that on the cloud making access to the files possible. This is broadly divided into:-
- Infrastructure as a service
- Platform as a service
- Software as a service.
Now based on the deployment model, the cloud can be classified into public, private as well as hybrid cloud. Further cloud is divided into two different layers; the front end layer and the back end layer. The layer is the primary component of cloud is completely responsible for storage and security of information. Other than that, it ensures with seamless connectivity between devices that are linked through cloud computing with the central servers with the use of distinctive software acting as a bridge between the database and applications.
Types of cloud computing:-
Cloud computing and its types are based on either the deployment model or the type of service. Now based on deployment mode, cloud is classified as public, private or hybrid cloud. Similarly it is classified as infrastructure as a service, platform as a service and software as a service distinctively based on services of the offers by cloud models.
1. Private cloud;-
In the process, the computing services are offered to the private IT network for dedicated users of any single organization. Private cloud computing offers with all benefits of public cloud like self-service, scalability and elasticity. Along with that they also offer with additional control, security and customization.
2. Public cloud:-
This offers with computing services offered by the third party providers over the internet. The services can be available to anyone who wants to use or purchase them. These could be free or can be sold on demand. The users for this have to pay per usage for the CPU cycles as well as for storage or band width that they consume.
3. Hybrid cloud:-
The hybrid cloud is a combination of both private and public cloud model allowing shift of workloads between the private and public clouds as the cost of computing and requirement based on changes. When there is fluctuation , this system allows the businesses to scale their on premises infrastructure to the public cloud for handling the over flow with ensuring that no third party data centres have access to their data.
4. Infrastructure as service (IaaS):-
This is the type of cloud computing where the service provider is responsible for providing servers, storage and networking over virtual interface. The service users don’t need to manage with cloud infrastructure but have to take control over the storage as well as operating systems and the deployed applications.
5. Software as service:-
This kind allows the users to access the vendor’s software on cloud based on subscription. In this type, the users don’t need to install or download the applications on their local devices. Instead the applications are located on remote cloud network which directly accesses through the web or any API.
